On July 19, after 40 years from opening ceremony of the 1980 Summer Olympics, a video card will be displayed at our media facade from 21:00 to midnight. Everyone will be able to see the mascot of competition, the Olympic Bear, flying into the sky, and official emblem "Moscow 1980". At the same time windows of the Cosmos Hotel will light up with a festive message to the capital: "MOSCOW - 80!"

The Ostankino TV Tower is a symbol of Soviet and Russian television. In 1980 it broadcast  the Olympic competitions.

"The Ostankino TV Tower is going to join our neighbors' action with great pleasure. Our designers will place symbols of the 1980 Olympics at the Tower's facade to remind everyone about importance of unity and mutual support. Sport brings us together, it doesn't matter if you are an athlete or just a fan”, comments Anna Nefedova, head of Development department of the Ostankino Tower.

The Cosmos Hotel is connected with Games of the XXII Olympiad, which were held in the USSR from July 19 to August 3, 1980. The hotel was built in Moscow to entertain foreign athletes, official delegations and fans of the 1980 Summer Olympics and had opened one year before the Games, in July 1979.
