85th anniversary of Ostankino Tower's legendary designer

Today is Vladimir Travush's birthday. He is an outstanding designer and scientist, an expert in high-rise construction.

Vladimir Travush was born on May 4,1936. In the 60s, he was engaged in design of structure and engineering systems of the Ostankino TV Tower under the guidance of the chief designer Nikolai Nikitin.

Vladimir Ilyich has been in demand in his profession for more than half a century. He has participated in design of the most complex objects in country. He is the author of more than 200 scientific articles, more than 70 projects, including Moscow City objects, Ice Palace for the Sochi Olympics, the Lakhta Center business complex in St. Petersburg, Europe Square in Moscow, many socially significant structures. But his main project Vladimir Travush considers the Ostankino TV Tower. He built it and also played a huge role in its reconstruction after the fire.

Now Vladimir Travush works as Deputy General Director, Chief Designer of CJSC Gorproekt. He is Vice President of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences. He has many professional awards:
• Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of Russian Federation;
• Honored Builder of Russian Federation, laureate of the Government of Russian Federation Prize;
• Chevalier of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
