Meeting Uncle Stepa

In 1964, animator Ivan Aksenchuk created a cartoon “Uncle Stepa, a Police Officer” based on the poem by Sergei Mikhalkov.

Several generations in our country knew this poem by heart. The image of Uncle Stepa in the USSR was considered as ideal of a respectable police officer, who protects public order.

The Park "Journey to Youth" at the Ostankino TV tower is patrolled by real Uncle Stepa. They are not as high as hero of the cartoon, but they have a real police uniform of the Soviet era and authentic police motorcycle Ural ISM 8.103, where everyone can make a memorable photo.
